HOW TO USE THIS DISCUSSION GUIDE
As you lead the discussion, we follow a discipleship framework that helps move us from learning to transformation: Head → Heart → Hands → Share → Check-In

Leader Reminder: There are multiple questions in each section. Leaders should prepare ahead of time and use discernment to choose the questions that best serve their group. The goal of this discussion is not just conversation but transformation. Encourage participation, honesty, and practical obedience.

ICE BREAKER
Choose one or two:
  • What's something you're always prepared for—and something you're almost never prepared for?
  • Have you ever been completely caught off guard by something? What happened?
  • If someone unexpectedly showed up at your house today, what would they find you doing?

SERMON RECAP
In Mark 13, Jesus prepares His disciples for both the destruction of the temple and His eventual return. While many details about the future remain unknown, Jesus makes one thing unmistakably clear: no one knows the day or the hour of His return. Rather than trying to predict the timing, His followers are called to live ready. Jesus repeatedly urges His disciples to "stay awake," warning them against spiritual complacency and calling them to faithfully steward the lives God has entrusted to them.

The sermon challenged us to consider where complacency may have quietly entered our walk with God. As we wait for Christ's return, we are invited to embrace the uncertainty of God's timing, guard against the slow drift of spiritual compromise, and fight for spiritual vibrancy through prayer, God's Word, Christian community, and faithful obedience. Ultimately, our readiness is not produced by our own strength, but by the life Christ has given us. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus awakens those who were spiritually dead and transforms them into people who are ready for His return.
